The Martini Table is part of a new collection from Turnstone, a Steelcase Company. Designed by Brian Kane, it is made of rotationally molded plastic, a lightweight, nearly indestructible material. This table is at home indoors and out.
About the Designer:
We know Brian Kane from when he was design director at Metropolitan Furniture, a Steelcase company, and Kirk Hobbs, OFFI founder and president, was working there as an engineer. Brian was a very positive influence on Kirk's decision several years later to start OFFI. Brian's design philosophy -- doing more with less -- blends well with the OFFI design style. He designed the first collection for OFFI in 1998 and indirectly he works with us more currently through Turnstone, a Steelcase company where these same design philosophies meet their more contract oriented objectives, making this match of company and designer a good fit.
Brian has also collaborated with many other companies, and developed key pieces such as the Manhattan and Monterey Lounge Groups and the Rubber Collection, part of the permanent collection of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Brian is a member of the Industrial Design Society Association. He lives in San Francisco and operates Kane Design Studio, a product development firm.
OFFI & Company was launched in 1997 out of the love for great design. This passion is satisfied by creating simple, beautiful and practical furnishings that address the modern urban lifestyle. OFFI products are created to be multifunctional, comfortable, and at home in any modern home in the world.
By guiding and nurturing a group of independent international designers such as Scott Wilson, Karim Rashid, Eric Pfeiffer, TRUCK Product Architecture, Roberto Gil, and Tarantino Design, Offi has launched more than 100 fresh new products in the last ten years. Offi, as well as several of the designers, has won prestigious awards for furniture design during that time.
Now offering work surfaces, lounge seating, storage solutions, organization accessories, and a growing "kids" collection, we are committed to delivering great design by continually creating the most innovative furniture solutions for the modern urban lifestyle.
OFFI products can be found at the best retailers throughout North America, Europe, and Japan. And after to a recent move from Tiburon, California to Corning, New York (a top 25 arts destination for small cities) Offi had the opportunity to open a showroom, which is open to the public 7 days a week.
